1907 Collection® Intellectual Property & Production Policy

1907 Collection® provides public notice that all original artistic interpretations, graphic compositions, typography, apparel concepts, and visual designs created by 1907 Collection® are proprietary creative works.

These designs may reference the rich history, legacy, and community identity associated with Dillard High School, including historical identifiers such as 1907, references to School Number Eleven (No. 11), and Panther athletic symbolism.

While these identifiers represent the heritage of the institution, the specific artistic interpretation, typography, visual layout, and design execution created by 1907 Collection® remain proprietary creative works.

Protected Design Elements

The following elements, when created by 1907 Collection®, are considered proprietary design compositions and protected creative works:

• Panther mascot illustrations and stylized Panther graphics
• Panther head designs and Panther facial expressions
• Panther body positions, athletic poses, silhouettes, and motion graphics
• Panther claw marks and stylized Panther imagery
• Custom typography and graphic layouts incorporating “Dillard,” “Dillard Athletics,” or “Panthers”
• Custom DILLARD font styles, lettering treatments, and athletic typography compositions
• Graphic layouts and design compositions incorporating 1907
• Historical references to School Number Eleven (No. 11) used within design compositions
• Color compositions associated with school heritage when used within original 1907 Collection® design layouts
• Visual layout structure, spacing, and placement of athletic graphics within apparel designs
• Custom design compositions such as the “Dillard Athletics Dept.” graphic concept
• Apparel design placement, graphic scaling, and visual composition created within original 1907 Collection® artwork

Design Lock Clause

All artwork, design layouts, mockups, and visual concepts created by 1907 Collection® are provided exclusively for the purpose of apparel production through 1907 Collection®.

Submission of design previews, mockups, or artwork files does not grant permission to reproduce the design through another printer, manufacturer, or apparel vendor.

Clients, organizations, or representatives may not transfer, replicate, redraw, or submit the design to another vendor for manufacturing, even if production through 1907 Collection® is declined.

If production is not completed through 1907 Collection®, the artwork and design files remain the intellectual property of 1907 Collection® and may not be used for manufacturing unless a separate design licensing agreement or artwork release fee has been approved in writing.

Vendor of Record Clause

Once a design created by 1907 Collection® is approved for production, 1907 Collection® shall serve as the Vendor of Record for that design and associated apparel production.

This means:

• The approved design is locked to 1907 Collection® production
• The design may not be transferred to another apparel vendor
• The design may not be reproduced by third-party manufacturers
• Any future orders using the same design must be produced through 1907 Collection®, unless a written licensing or vendor transfer agreement has been granted.

This clause protects the creative development, production preparation, and proprietary design work completed by 1907 Collection®.

Mockups & Artwork Display

Digital mockups provided by 1907 Collection® are intended for visual presentation and approval purposes only.

Mockups may create the appearance of larger print or embroidery sizing due to digital scaling and presentation formatting. Final production sizing will follow standard apparel decoration guidelines.

Mockups may not be used for production with another vendor or manufacturer.

Unauthorized Reproduction

Unauthorized reproduction includes, but is not limited to:

• Printing or embroidering the same artwork with another apparel vendor
• Recreating the same Panther mascot pose, facial expression, or graphic style
• Replicating the same DILLARD typography style or layout composition
• Redrawing the artwork to imitate the original design
• Using mockups or design previews for external manufacturing
• Reproducing the design on other apparel or merchandise without permission

Such actions may constitute copyright infringement and unauthorized use of protected creative works.

Brand Integrity

The 1907 Collection® name, logo, apparel concepts, artwork compositions, typography, marketing materials, and visual brand elements are proprietary assets.

1907 Collection® values collaboration with schools, alumni organizations, athletic programs, and community partners and appreciates mutual respect for creative work, institutional history, and brand integrity.

Licensing & Authorized Usage

Organizations wishing to reproduce, license, or manufacture designs created by 1907 Collection® must obtain written authorization and may be subject to design licensing agreements or artwork release fees.

Licensing requests and branding inquiries may be directed to 1907 Collection®.

Artwork Notice (Short Version for Invoices)

Artwork Notice: All apparel graphics, Panther mascot representations, DILLARD typography styles, and design layouts created by 1907 Collection® remain proprietary creative works. These designs are authorized for production through 1907 Collection® only and may not be reproduced, modified, or manufactured by any other vendor without written permission.

Substantial Similarity Protection Clause

1907 Collection® designs are protected not only against direct copying but also against substantially similar reproductions.

Unauthorized use includes any design, illustration, or graphic that is intentionally or unintentionally derived from, inspired by, or closely resembles original artwork created by 1907 Collection®, including but not limited to:

• Panther mascot illustrations or Panther head designs
• Panther facial expressions, body positions, or athletic poses
• Stylized Panther silhouettes or claw graphics
• Graphic layouts incorporating “Dillard,” “Dillard Athletics,” or “Panthers”
• Custom DILLARD typography styles, lettering treatments, and layout structures
• Graphic compositions referencing 1907 or School Number Eleven (No. 11)
• Apparel layout structures and visual compositions developed by 1907 Collection®

A design may be considered substantially similar if it replicates the overall appearance, structure, composition, typography arrangement, mascot pose, or stylistic elements of an original 1907 Collection® design, even if certain details have been altered.

Recreating, redrawing, modifying, or slightly altering a design for the purpose of reproducing it through another vendor does not remove the design from the protection of this policy.

Any design that closely resembles or is derived from original 1907 Collection® artwork may be considered an unauthorized reproduction.

1907 Collection® reserves the right to protect and enforce the integrity of its creative works across apparel production, printed materials, digital media, and commercial merchandise.
